María Guadalupe Ortiz Jimenez is a married woman who lives in Villa Lobos, a rapidly growing urban community outside of Guatemala City. She has 3 grown children. María says that she owns her house and she also lends rooms to the local church as a charity so that they have a proper meeting place.
For about a year, María Guadalupe has been selling clothes. She sells women's, men's, and children's clothes in all sizes and prices. She would like to expand her business a little bit by buying more clothes and perfume to sell. Her goal is to grow the business and to help her family become more financially stable with the aid of this loan. Her husband works but he doesn’t earn enough the support the family.
María prays to God that everything will turn out well for her family and believes that this loan will be a good investment for the betterment of the lives of her family members.

María Guadalupe tiene 1 año de vender ropa de damas, caballeros y niños diferentes tallas y precios solo que ella desea ampliar un poco mas su negocio comprando ropa y algunos perfumes para vender. Su meta es crecer en su negocio de la venta de ropa con la ayuda del crédito que se le dará ella podrá crecer como comerciante y estará mejor económicamente su familia ya que su esposo trabaja pero no alcanza para sustentar a su familia, María espera en Dios que todo le salga bien y que este crédito sea para un buen beneficio en la vida de su familia.

El señor José Francisco tiene 33 años de edad, reside en el barrio Enrique Smit, su esposa le tiene dos hijos, de 6 y 10 años de edad, su negocio es la venta de medicina natural, lleva doce años en las ventas, que inicio con fondos propios, todo estos medicamentos los compra en el mercado oriental, los cuales son: zepol, cofal fuerte, panadol, y otros. Con este crédito va a comprar medicina para vender en los departamentos y poder captar clientes. Sus planes es poder crecer en inventario y poder mantener los estudios a sus hijos.

Maribel is married to Macario Rogero. He works as a rice and corn classifier for a buyer. She is forty-two years old and engaged in the hog-raising business. She wants to take out a loan of $125 to maintain her business. She will utilize the loan to buy a bag of feed for her hogs. She hopes that somehow she will able to expand into other businesses such as vending in order to generate more income to support her family.
The couple has four children: Nowee - twenty-three years old; Michael - twenty years old; Maricris - seventeen years old, now in his fourth year of high school, and their youngest, Macario - twelve years old, a mentally disabled child. Maribel's family lives in a harmonious relationship in their rural area of Minanga Proper in Angadanan, Isablea.

“There is a positive side to every situation if we simply make the choice to find it," says Hermie, who is twenty-five years old, single and a man with simple dreams. He is still living with his parents and his two siblings are also working.
Hermie is getting married soon. This is the reason why he is working hard to make sure that he can provide a stable life for his future family. He owns a community-based variety store in their village and at the same time works as a tricycle operator.
His loan request of $175 will be used to buy more stock for his store and for the maintenance of his tricycle, so they will have a stable source of income.

Marilou has been a vendor of snacks and vegetables in their village for one year. But aside from vending, she is also engaged in hog-raising to assist her husband in providing for the needs of their family. She is now requesting a loan of PHP 6,000 that she will use to expand her snack-vending of barbecue and other easy-to-prepare snacks. She is hoping that someday she can become successful in her chosen enterprise and continue to send her children to school. She hopes that someday her children will finish their studies through their sacrifices.
Marilou is 49 years old and married to Orlando who manages their small farm. They are blessed with five children: the eldest is Vanessa, 22 years old, a high school graduate. Second is Krislene, 18 years old, a high school student; Kristle, 16 years old, second-year high school; Jeristy, 14 years old, an elementary student, and the youngest is Algie, 3 years old. Three of their children pursue their education despite their age. They believe age does not matter if you want a better life.
