My dog has been sick off and on since she was 41/2 months old. Her diarrhea / really soft stools issue has been (at least for now resolved). However, she has also started again to regurgitate or vomit, undigested food. We were just at the vet this past Thursday March 26 for that exact problem. The vet gave me advice to help her temporarily. She did keep the food down for a couple days, but today she is vomiting again completely undigested food on almost every meal. She was already underweight and has muscle atrophy. In just six days from March 26 - April 1, she lost another 4 pounds. We had done comprehensive blood test and Urinalysis when she was younger and she had the same issues; we also had taken in the past xrays of her throat and we have done several fecal tests looking for parasites. All results were negative, but Niki continue the same way -- a few days to a couple months doing great and out of nowhere she will get really sick and even lethargic for days and then bounce back again and the cycle continues. At our new vet we tested Niki for diarreah panel an expensive test that show that Niki had an uncommon infestion; we put her on antibiotics to resolve this and we also switched her food to the only food that so far she has not had diarrhea, Natures Variety Frozen food. However, the last two weeks, she has started again vomiting / recurgitating undigested food within a few seconds after eating. The only difference from when she was a young puppy is that now she vomits the food immediately while then, she would vomit undigested, whole food 12 hours after she had eaten! Nothing has worked, allergy formula foods, homecooking, I have tried almost every quality brand on the market and Niki's illness cycle is unending -- except that now she is been the worst she is ever been. We tested her for Megaesophagus and Addisson's disease, but those tests were negative also. I am at a loss and I love this puppy so much! Niki is my service dog; she was trained after both of my doctors reccommented the use of a service dog would benefit me. Niki has the perfect temperament and she was greatly bonded with me, so she was evaluated, trained, passed her public access tests, and she was coming with me almost everywhere, but work. I am struggling financially and I have spend a lots of money already -- I have no more funds to continue her VERY expensive diagnostic tests and eventually treatment.
My puppy just turned 21 months on March 30 and Besides the issue with her food intake, she also has a curved spine and the vet thinks that it could be Wobbler's disease. She gave me an estimate for the xrays of $512 - $640. Of course she will need treatment too. Now, we need to do Biopsies and food allergies tests. The estimate the vet gave me is from $1,300 - over $1,600 for the biopsies and $300 for the allergies test. I do not know yet what the treatment will cost because we have to first find out what is wrong, but just the diagnostic tests and xrays to find out what is wrong will total over $2,500 and then... I have the treatment costs to worry about! :( Can you help me help my puppy? I watch her waste away and I am helpless because so far we cannot find out what is wrong and I have exchausted my already very few finances.
Every penny will go directly to Niki's vet for her diagnostic tests and eventually treatment. Niki is the most wonderful dog you have met and she loves everyone and every pet we have met. She adores children and one day at a park, she warned a young couple that their child had wandered on the street. She prevented me from been hit by a car when she was only seven months long before her training. Do not pass by this wonderful dog and let her waste away because of her owner's inability to pay the large amounts of money required for her care -- Niki deserves so much more than I can give her, but even a rich owner would not necessarily quarrantee the love and care she is getting from me. Thank you so much and I greatly appreciate any help you can give.
Niki means victory in Greek -- I am certain that with all our love and help, my puppy will be the victor against whatever it is that now is hurting her.
Fundable will send a check directly to Niki's vet, Dr. Stephanie Sur, at Orange Villa Veterinary Hospital of Orange, Ca
On March 3rd, 2009, in El Paso, Tx at Fort Bliss, a soldier adopted 2 dogs from Pet Guardian Angel-an adoption center. Tinkerbelle was a golden retriever and Wrigley, a mixed breed.
Within a few weeks of the adoption, the soldier horrifically stomped, kicked, and beat Tinkerbelle to death. Stop for one moment and imagine the pain and suffering that Tinkerbell and Wrigley endured as they were brutally attacked. Tinkerbelle was gruesomely murdered, blow-by-blow, kick-by-kick, and beaten to death. The soldier's wife was there and did not stop her husband. How long and how much pain did Tinkerbelle withstand until she took her last breath? Wrigley got away, but was kicked so badly that he was taken to a veterinary clinic and had extensive surgery done on his hind leg.
This type of behavior should not be tolerated by somebody whose job it is to protect our country. The soldier in question should not get away with such inhumane acts nor should the community tolerate such behavior. A slap on the wrist is not punishment enough for the crime. Silence is acceptance. By remaining silent we take no steps to prevent such horrific acts from happening again. By signing this petition, you are helping put an end to this abuse and urging the community to ensure action is taken against the accused.

His name is Mojo and is a full blooded American Bobtail cat. He is dearly missed and has been our beloved family pet for years. We would like to see Mojo returned to his owners and actions taken to prevent future incidents from occuring.
