Marilou has been a vendor of snacks and vegetables in their village for one year. But aside from vending, she is also engaged in hog-raising to assist her husband in providing for the needs of their family. She is now requesting a loan of PHP 6,000 that she will use to expand her snack-vending of barbecue and other easy-to-prepare snacks. She is hoping that someday she can become successful in her chosen enterprise and continue to send her children to school. She hopes that someday her children will finish their studies through their sacrifices.
Marilou is 49 years old and married to Orlando who manages their small farm. They are blessed with five children: the eldest is Vanessa, 22 years old, a high school graduate. Second is Krislene, 18 years old, a high school student; Kristle, 16 years old, second-year high school; Jeristy, 14 years old, an elementary student, and the youngest is Algie, 3 years old. Three of their children pursue their education despite their age. They believe age does not matter if you want a better life.
The last step required to achieve level-A accreditation status under NHIF is for Arrow Web Hospital to secure an X-ray machine, baby incubator and ultrasound equipment. With each level of accreditation under NHIF, the amount of money the hospital is reimbursed per card-carrying patient per month increases. This equipment will also again allow the hospital to accept referrals from other areas, also increasing the amount of reimbursement they receive. With the receipt of level-B accreditation status, NHIF will soon list Arrow Web Hospital on their website and include the hospital in their marketing materials, so it is expected that more and more patients will seek treatment from them. Having this type of equipment on hand, will definitely be of great use to them.
For this task, we are asking volunteers to research options for helping Arrow Web Hospital obtain the needed equipment. This may be organizations who have equipment to donate, or also via funding proposals. We will need to evaluate all options to minimize costs.

In 2007 , our child was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder- NOS
( Not otherwise specified) --- one of the forms of Autism spectrum disorders. Our child was 2.5 years old then.
Since that time, we, the parents, have learned a lot by attending different conferences, by various therapists and doctors. We have come to believe that increasing community
awareness is a stepping-stone towards improving the quality of our child’s life.
April is autism awareness month. Autism is often symbolized with a puzzle pattern. Our purpose is to take one moment in time to raise up everyone who is affected by this diagnosis and shine a spot light on what can only be characterized as one of the most devastating epidemics of our time. ( 1 in 150 children are diagnosed with autism every year.)
Thank you for your consideration and support. Part of the proceeds will go directly to buying more ribbon for this cause.
With much love & gratitude,
The Khan Family.
